The Birth Of "Tornado" Originated From The Need For Nato' S "Flexible Response" Strategy In The Late 1960s. At That Time, Western European Countries Needed A New Fighter Jet That Could Replace The Old F-4 Phantom Fighter Jet, F-104 Star Fighter Jet, And Other Models To With Potential Threats From The Soviet Union, Emphasizing Deep Strike Capability And All-Weather Combat Capability. The Tornado Fighter Jet Adopts A Tandem Dual Seat Design With Two Side Air Intakes, A Conventional Layout, And A Fully Metal Semi Hard Shell Structure. The Wings Are Variable Sweep Wings With Full Wingspan Flaperons And Leading Edge Slats, Reinforced With Aluminum Alloy Skin, And The Tail Wing Is A Fully Dynamic Lift Aileron With Built-In Rudder And Electric Control System. This Aircraft Is Mainly Used For Close Range Air Support, Battlefield Interception, Interception, Air Defense, Sea Attack, Electronic Countermeasures, And Reconnaissance. In 1969, The United Kingdom, Germany, And Italy Jointly Established For Panavia Aircraft To Lead The Development. Initially, More Countries Participated, But Ultimately These Three Countries Persisted. Its Prototype Successfully Made Its Maiden Flight In Germany On August 14, 1974, And Began To Be Delivered To The Military For Use In 1979. In 1992, The Tornado Fighter Jet Was Discontinued. Since Its Commissioning, The "Tornado" Fighter Jet Has Participated In Multiple Local Conflicts And Practical Tests, Including Large-Scale Battles Such As The And The Kosovo War. With The Advancement Of Technology And The Iteration Of Fighter Jets, As Well As The High Cost Of Maintaining Old Models, The "Tornado" Fighter Jet Is Gradually Retiring. The Retirement Of "Tornado" Marks The End Of The Era Of Variable Sweep Wing Fighter Jets And Represents The End Of An Aviation Legend Of Successful Cooperation Among Three European Countries. Its Responsibilities Are Gradually Being Taken Over By More Modern Aircraft Models, Such As The European Typhoon Fighter And The F-35 Stealth Fighter.
