Research And Applications Of Bio-Based Degradable Materials

This book focuses on bio-based degradable materials, which refer to degradable polymers produced through cell factories or biocatalytic transformation, as well as monomers that can be polymerized into degradable materials. It highlights biological manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing of such materials or material monomers, synthetic modification and application of materials, intelligent materials and material life cycle. With the accelerating advancement of synthetic biology, bio-based degradable materials are entering a new era of opportunity. Their application and recycling align closely with national economic development and sustainability. This book not only serves to popularize relevant theories and technologies, but also fosters cross-disciplinary innovation—bridging materials science, biology, environmental engineering, and intelligent systems. It aims to support research progress and cultivate future-oriented professionals and interdisciplinary talent across these research fields. This book is beneficial for researchers, students, industry professionals, and policymakers.
