This unrecorded blueprint plan of Milwaukee, WI and an adjacent suburb was drafted by W.K. Means in 1895 (signed and dated, lower left). It presents the transportation connections between the port city and the resort town of Waukesha, founded in 1834 and known for its 'miraculous' healing waters. The Madison Division of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway is the most direct route, but several road and rail options are available for those seeking to head west. Parks, cemeteries, geographic features, and a handful of scattered villages are also noted throughout the image. The map is rare and unlisted in OCLC or other online repositories. No previous market examples have been identified. Sheet Width (in) 20.8 Sheet Height (in) 15.7 Condition Description Sharp creasing and faint toning along old fold lines. Moderate wear along the outer edges of the sheet, including creased corners, small tears, and wrinkling. Very good overall. Blank on verso.
